I wonder if Times's columnists, too, feel like this has made them a lot less relevant to the national conversation.

I haven't read a column by Friedman or Krugman since this began and probably visit the Times's site a quarter as often. Times's management has effectively accomplished what Fox News could only have dreamed of.

I never assume I'm representative of anything, but wouldn't be surprised if I was consistent with a pattern in this case.

Yahoo suggests
if you're looking for flamebait.com, it's taken. But Yahoo has a suggestion for you:

Deconstructing a Dating Site
Here's how the job options are listed:

Here's how they're coded:

Executive - 1, Retired - 16. I wonder if there is some kind of heuristic implicit in that.

Your Privacy Threatened in Chinese
The last post translated into traditional Chinese using Altavista's Babelfish:

網際網路, 在Google 的領導下, 威脅翻轉每個岩石和拉扯每骨骼在每壁櫥外面在您的生活中。唯一的方式抵抗這個威脅將在網上出版一樣關於你自己的假和假資訊儘可能。約會站點是一個好開始。

And then back again into English

The Internet, under the Google leadership, the threat turns over each rock and pulls each skeleton outside each closet in yours life. The only way will resist this threat on-line to publish will be equally false about you and the false information as far as possible. The appointment stand is a good start.

Not bad.

Your Privacy Threatened
The internet, under the leadership of Google, is threatening to overturn every rock and pull every skeleton out of every closet in your life. The only way to counter this threat is to publish online as much false and fake information about yourself as possible. Dating sites are a good start.
