Just received the following event announcement:
"T"-Party at the campus Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center
Monday, April 26, 2004
4:00 PM @ the campus LGBT Resource Center
A Free Event,
Hosted by the campus LGBT Resource Center
To kick-off campus's Out & Proud Week 2004, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual
Transgender Resource Center (LGBT RC) will be hosting a very special
"T"-Party on Monday, April 26, 2004. This will be a formal English
high tea service during which the campus community will be highlighting
and discussing issues in the Trans community. Hence, "T"-party.
This formal, but fun, opportunity will be your chance to ask
questions and hear the experiences of campus affiliates surrounding
Trans issues. There will be an atmosphere of community, openness and
respect for all members of the campus community.
Tea will be served at four o'clock in the afternoon (according to
English tradition) and will include finger sandwiches and petit
fours.
But then wasn't cross-dressing always a part of the traditional formal English high tea service -- or am I confusing it with the Anglican mass?
